The Champaign-Urbana Kappa League
Since 2003, The Champaign-Urbana Kappa League has assisted African American and Latino high school men of
Champaign Unit 4 and Urbana District 116 with earning both high school and college degrees.
The Kappa League exposes its members to a year-long curriculum providing insight into a
variety of disciplines including: achieving in school, proper grooming, dining and social
etiquette, healthy living, entrepreneurship, teamwork, oral and written communication skill
development, treating ladies with respect and honor, managing finances, and a host of other
developmental topics. These young men are also exposed to various
career paths with opportunities to learn from successful executives, professionals and
community leaders.
Currently, The Kappa League is one of Champaign-Urbana's "best kept secrets."
Its current enrollment is small enough to provide each high school male with an intimate experience.
